Keelboat returns to Fort Belle Fontaine

Work Begins at Fort Belle Fontaine 1999
LHR volunteers began cleaning the vegetation on the riverfront area along the WPA grand staircase and bath houses in 2000. This was an area that was forgotten and one could hardly walk through due to vines and poison ivy. The St. Louis County Parks Department has ownership of the land and removed the large trees that needed removing.
As of 2002;  3,000 volunteer hours have been invested.
