Columbia Bottoms Rendezvous - September
21-23, 2007 The LHR Fall Encampment is held on the South Bank of the Missouri River at the Confluence to the Mississippi River on 4,000 acres of property owned and operated by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This is a wildlife area with wetlands loaded with game just as the earlier settlers would have enjoyed. We camped in the footsteps of the Spanish Fort “Fort Don Carlos” (1767-1780) which was located on the south-side of the mouth of the Missouri River. It was officially known as Fort Don Carlos el Senor Principe de Asturias, and it was an 80-foot square palisade with four bastions.
